Alpenglow Sports and Tahoe Cross Country will host the Alpenglow 20K this Sunday, March 4, 2018 in lieu of the cancellation of the Great Ski Race. The goal is to provide enthusiastic and hungry Nordic skiers an outlet in what has been a meager winter to date, and then celebrate with Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue at their Great Ski Race cancellation party.

Thanks to its single loop nature and stunning lake views, this race is one of the most scenic and iconic cross-country races in the western United States. Distance options include 20k, 10k, and 2k options so that every level of skier is encouraged and welcomed to attend. The races begin at 10am with on-site sign-up from 8am-930am (no prior online registration).

The race begins and ends at Tahoe Cross Countryโ€™s lodge with extra parking available at North Tahoe High School. Cost for the event is $25 for those over the age of 13 and $10 for youth 12 and under. CASH OR CHECK ONLY.

All race proceeds benefit TCCSEA (Tahoe Cross Country Ski Education Association). Alpenglow Sports and Tahoe Cross Country will both donate prizes for winners AND participants.

After the race, participants will join Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescueโ€™s Great Ski Race Cancellation Party. Sierra Nevada Brewing will start the party at 12pm and Men Wielding Fire will cook food at the Tahoe Cross Country Lodge. Local favorites the Blues Monsters will be playing live musice from 130pm-3pm. All proceeds from the party will benefit Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue (TNSAR).
