Historic Alameda Point
The Alameda Running Festival incorporates a Half Marathon, 10k (6.2 miles), 5k (3.2 miles), and family fun run (1 mile) The event will start and finish at the historic Alameda point and highlight several beautiful areas around the island. The event will benefit two great charities that include the Alameda Unified School District and Alameda Meals on Wheels. Our goal is to generate $5,000 in donations during the 2017 event, and will continue to grow year after year as we build this into a marquee annual event on the island of Alameda.
We are projecting 2,000 runners and 3,000 spectators in the 2nd year that will visit the island and estimate around 450K in economic impact for the weekend of events. The Alameda Running Festival will create a 2-day festival of events that will include an expo around health and wellness as well as community involvement including local schools, business, charities and fundraising.
We are very excited to bring this event to island for a second year in a row. Join us in creating a successful event that will showcase this beautiful island for many years to come. Bring your friends, your family or your work colleagues and Come Run the Island!
