The 11th annual Tour de Ed is an annual family bike ride through the Chico area almond blossoms. Proceeds will go toward cycling education and safety.
In 2007, local bicycle advocate, Ed McLaughlin, suffered a severe neck injury in a bicycle accident in Bidwell Park. The first year’s ride was to help with Ed’s medical bills. A well-known figure in Chico, his injury mobilized the community to come to his support. His accident demonstrated the need for assistance to other riders in our community, and the need for cycling education and safety within our community for cyclists, pedestrians, and vehicles.
