Our Mammoth camps are such a highlight of our summers that every year we can’t wait to go back. The resort features completely unique terrain and beautiful views, and everything is so convenient that it’s possible to think of nothing but mountain biking for days on end.
We run our morning skill development sessions – featuring stance and balance lessons to wheel lifts, roll downs, and drops – on the stunts we bring along with us as well as in the dedicated learning areas in the park. Our afternoons are then focused on incorporating new skills onto the trails, whether cross-country or downhill inclined.
Each year we’ve discovered new cross-country pedaling options. Most are fairly smooth, fast, and flowing, with opportunities to practice climbing technique, develop low and high-speed cornering, and master loose terrain. Others features roots and rocks, short technical climbs, and more challenging descents.
The downhill lift-accessed options are even more varied, offering everything from green to double black options, and the chance to develop descending skills whether for all-mountain or dedicated gravity pursuits. Fine tuning trail stragey and braking is always on offer here, and of course there are plenty of drop and jump lines too.
Thanks to great support from Mammoth Mountain, to date all participants wanting to ride the lifts during camp have received one complimentary lift ticket, and were able to purchase a second day’s ticket for just $25. We’re working on the 2019 program with them now, and will update the info here as soon as we can.
