Daron Rahlves, decorated Olympic downhiller turned skier-cross competitor, is adding two more Tahoe stops on the Rahlves’ Banzai Tour to his home mountain of Sugar Bowl, where the popular and historic Silver Belt Banzai race has been reinvigorated over the last couple years.

The Banzai Tour will feature a $50,000 prize purse. The first race will be held at Alpine Meadows, the β€œBeaver Bowl Banzai,” Jan. 22-23. The next race will be held at Kirkwood, the β€œEagle Bowl Banzai,” Feb. 5-6. The series will culminate with the Silver Belt Banzai and β€œRahlves Super Final,” March 12-13.

Each tour stop has $10,000 up for grabs, along with $10,000 for overall tour winners. To even the playing field, Rahlves will not compete in the first three tour stops, but he will be in the gates at the Super Final to take on the winners for a one-run, winner-take-all $10,000 mad dash down Sugar Bowl’s Silver Belt Gully.
