If you like bicycling on mountain roads through redwood forests, sign up for the 21st annual Santa Cruz Mountains Challenge, a road bike event on July 20th, 2019.  The Santa Cruz County Cycling Club event offers four routes—127, 102, 75 and 45 miles, with elevation gains ranging from 3,500 to 12,500 feet.  Post-ride meal with ice cream for dessert available on the Baskin Plaza till 6pm

Santa Cruz Mountains Challenge has it all; a course that is diversely beautiful and as challenging as it comes, while you are amply supported by enthusiastic volunteers offering yummy food. What is this well-organized ride missing?…the hefty entry fee, huge lines and too-crowded roads you’ll find at equally as challenging events such as The Death Ride. If you have the gumption to take on the steep climbs through tranquil redwood forests, screaming descents to the gorgeous California coastline, all on a course that is as tough as it is stunning, Santa Cruz Mountains Challenge will then go at the top of your list of rides you were the most pleased you were able to actually finish.”

Discounted Fee Deadline: Monday, Apr 15, 2019 at 10:00 PM PT.

On-line registration is open until event reaches 650 rider limit or until  10:00 pm PDT on July 18, 2019.
