The Ely Outdoor Enthusiasts is partnering with the White Pine Aquatic Center for the Sky High Tri! The triathlon offers kids, beginner, and sprint distances, as well as a duathlon. You can also grab some friends and sign up as a relay team.

No Race Day Registration, Kids Tri may register at packet pickup

Race Day Agenda and Morning Meeting Details:

Parking will be available at White Pine County Aquatic Center and White Pine High School for the day of the race.

  • 6:00am โ€“ 7:00am Participants will be allowed to drop off their equipment in the transition area, located on the road adjacent to the Aquatic Center.
  • 7:00am All cars will be removed from transition area road
  • 7:10am Morning meeting in the transition area. All participants must attend.
  • 7:15am Duathlon race start
  • 7:30am Sprint Triathlon race start
  • 8:00am Beginners Triathlon race start
  • 9:00am Kids Tri (10 and under) race start
  • 10:00am Awards

Sprint Tri and Duathlon Bike Directionsย 

Swim: All Swimmers must wear the provided racing caps.ย  If you do not wear the provided racing cap then you will not be allowed to race.ย  Swimming Fins and snorkels will also not be allowed during the swimming portion of the race.ย  400/200 yard INDOOR pool swim.ย  The swimming portion of the race will begin with a chip timed start. Each swimmer will enter the pool feet first and do a push start. Each lane will offer enough room for 2 swimmers at a time.ย  All swimmers will split their lane and stay on their side of entry into the pool.ย  After completing their 400/200 yards the swimmer will exit the pool and Aquatic Center via and mats and front door.ย  See the map on the next page.ย  During the Sprint, Beginners and Kids Tri race if a participant needs a lifejacket they will be allowed to wear one.

Bike: The 12 mile bike will begin in the transition area after the swim portion of the race.ย  The bikers will depart from the transition are and travel to Bobcat Drive, east to Mineral Drive, up the top of Mineral drive and back down to the intersection of Route 50 and Mineral Drive.ย  The route will follow Route 50 to Madison Ave, this section of the race is on a state highway and will travel with traffic.ย  Spotters will be provided to help control this section of the race to insure safety to our riders.ย  Bikers will continue on Madison Ave to California Ave to Grant Ave to Pennsylvania Ave to 13th Street.ย  At 13th Street and Ave M bikers will travel on Ave. M to 16th Street to Ave. G and then back to 13th Street. Bikers will follow essentially the same route to return to the transition area adjacent to the Aquatic Center to begin their run.ย  There will be a first aid/water station at the turn around on Mineral drive as well as Ave. M and 13th Street.

Run:ย  The running portion of the race will begin in the transition area adjacent to the Aquatic Center.ย  The route will take runners in the same direction as the biking route.ย  Runners head to Bobcat Drive past the High school runners will then continue on Bobcat Drive to Mineral Drive to the turnaround spot at the top of Mineral Drive and then continue the same route back to the finish line.ย  There will be a water and first aid station at the turnaround on Mineral Drive.

Biking and Running Routes:ย  All routes will be marked with mile markers and arrows to help guide participants.ย  Spotters will also be present throughout the course and at first aid stations and each turn around point.ย
