OPTION #1: 73 MILES   /   6,541 FT
OPTION #2: 52 MILES/  3,913 FT

Sweetwater, Fort Ross, Meyers Grade … and Willow Creek! Could there be a more perfect Sonoma County Hopper course? The route is pavé until Willow Creek Road where all “Hell of the West” breaks loose. Ride finishes with a seven mile dirt, gravel climb to the top of Willow Creek Road.

Super Sweetwater is where is all started. Twenty-one years ago, the first Grasshopper traveled from Occidental (Grasshopper Adventure Series founder Miguel Crawford’s home at the time) to Sweetwater Springs Road. Riders then rode River Road and finished up Willow Creek. Since then Grasshopper has “upped the ante” a bit, throwing in Fort Ross and Meyers Grade for good measure. This year riders will be rolling from the Barlow Center in Sebastopol, the town Crawford grew up in and the home base for series sponsors Guayaki and Woodfour Brewing Company.

Riders choose between two route options for 2019; both include Willow Creek Road: Super Sweetwater w/Fort Ross-Meyers Grade — 73 mi. 6,143 ft or Super Sweetwater to Willow Creek (No Fort Ross) — 52 mi. 3,913 ft.

Hoppers have always been about adventure, exploration and pushing your limits. These are timed rides and not races. All Hopper routes are open and riders must obey all traffic laws and rules.

Cash prizes for top three male/female for long route only.
