Bike to the Future Ride 2025 is more than just a cycling event—it’s a movement for safer, more sustainable streets. This annual ride raises funds and awareness for transforming El Camino Real into a multi-use corridor with protected bike lanes, safe pedestrian pathways, and a long-term vision of zero traffic fatalities.
Why it matters
El Camino Real is one of the deadliest corridors in the region. Bike to the Future supports critical advocacy work that helps shift public and political momentum toward real change. In 2025, participants will also celebrate a major step forward: VTA has secured funding from the California Department of Transportation for the environmental phase of the Central Bikeway project, a planned bike superhighway that will include portions of El Camino Real through Santa Clara and San Jose.
Route options
The 2025 Bike to the Future Ride features four routes, designed to welcome riders of all ages and abilities:
- 5 miles – Family-friendly and beginner-ready
- 15 miles – Includes a stretch along El Camino Real
- 30 miles – A scenic mix of city streets and trail
- 62 miles (Metric Century) – A challenging option for experienced cyclists
Registration and participation
Riders can register by selecting their preferred route and purchasing a ticket. Participants are encouraged to create a fundraising page or form a ride team to help reach the $60,000 fundraising goal and strengthen the impact of this advocacy effort.
Bike to the Future Ride 2025 offers the chance to join a community of cyclists working to make streets safer for everyone who bikes, walks, and rolls.
