The Bay Area’s most gorgeous hike and ride through Marin and across the Golden Gate. Hikers, runners, mountain bikers, and equestrians all join the fun with moderate to challenging options. Shuttles from the Presidio to trailheads allow for gorgeous one-way trips. Everyone enjoys tasty snacks and drinks at staffed rest stops and a catered trail-side lunch. 2018 registration is open now!

What You’ll Enjoy on a Ridge to Bridge Hike/Run

  • Shuttle transportation for a one-way hike on the Ridge Trail

  • Mountain Hardwear -a renowned outdoor retailer-will give you access to their newly expanded employee store. Entrance to the store will provide you with an average 50% discount on all your outdoor products from outerwear to sleeping bags to tents.
  • Detailed maps and route description; guides, sweeps, and safety support
  • Hiking or running the trail at your own pace and enjoying camaraderie with others.
  • Satisfaction of going the distance and raising money to build more Ridge Trail!

Hike/Run Options:
All hikers meet at the Presidio Main Post. 
Southbound hikers/runners take shuttles to trailheads in Marin and follow the Ridge Trail south on a mix of single-track trails, fire roads, and pavement.

  • 26-mile, shuttle departs at 5:30am or 6:00amShuttle north and hike or run the Ridge Trail south from Bolinas-Fairfax road to the Presidio. (26-mile hikes are sold out! Please contact events@ridgetrail.org to get on the waitlist)
  • 20-mile, shuttle departs at 7:00am or 7:45am bus: Shuttle north and hike or run the Ridge Trail south from Pantoll Ranger Station to the Presidio.
  • 15-mile, shuttle departs at 8:15am or 9:00am: Shuttle north and hike or run the Ridge Trail south from Muir Beach along Dias Ridge and back to the Presidio. (8:15am Shuttle is sold out!)

Registration Fee (all Southbound hikes): $130. Ridge Trail Council membership is NOT included with event registration.

Northbound, 10-mile hike/run, hike departs at 9:30am: Begin hiking in the Presidio, hike or run 10 miles north to Tennessee Valley and lunch, and get a shuttle bus back to the Presidio (shuttles depart on a regular schedule between 1pm-3:30pm.)

Registration Fee (10-mile hike): $90. Ridge Trail Council membership is not included with event registration.

Ride Options:
Rides follow the Ridge Trail from trailheads in Marin back to the Presidio on a mix of single-track, fire roads and pavement.

  • SOLD OUT! Endurance: 40 mile, 5,000 ft of climbing. Ride from Samuel P. Taylor State Park to the Presidio. Shuttle departs Presidio at 7:15AM
  • SOLD OUT! Advanced: 24 mile, 2,500 ft of climbing. Ride from Pantoll Ranger Station to the Presidio. Shuttle departs Presidio at 9:30AM.

Horse Ride Options:
All riders meet at 

  • 8.5 mile-loop Equestrian Ride: Start at Rodeo Valley Trailhead opposite the Presidio Stables, stops at Tennessee Valley for lunch and then returns.
