July 15-19, 2015 Mammoth Mountain

Mammoth Mountain Bike Park

[sarcasm] Alas, poor Roadshow Steve was sent to Mammoth Lakes to visit one of California’s premier outdoor playgrounds [/sarcasm] . MTB’s National Championships had returned to the Golden State by way of Pennsylvania (2014). For the ASJ Roadshow it was an opportunity to interact with a great many people from SoCal, but also to meet people from across the country.

Our booth was set up near the start/finish line in front of Canyon Lodge. Gondolas carried riders and spectators up from the Village through the treetops, dropping them off at the event. The free trolley bus stopped in front of our booth dinging its bell. I chatted with riders and visitors about the mag and upcoming events on the schedule and products on display from the partners of Adventure Sports Journal.

It’s a long drive from Santa Cruz to Mammy, but well worth the trip. The facilities are world class, and the town of Mammoth Lakes is absolutely charming and the people there are friendly. The opportunities for adventure are unsurpassed. For people from Northern California the Sierra is a gigantic barrier, but crossing over a mountain pass is part of the allure. I look forward to the return of the Roadshow for the Kamikaze Bike Games: September 24โ€“27 in Mammoth Lakes, CA.
