This river safetyย tip will keepย both you and your board safe
By Haven Livingston
Before you strap a leashย on your riverboard or SUP and head toย the nearest whitewater, hook yourself upย with a river specific quick release waistย belt.
Leashes open the door to dangerousย entanglement hazards on a river. When youย become separated from your board leashes canย catch on rocks. Surf style leashes leave youย dangling by the ankle and unable to reachย down to release it with the current pushingย you underwater. Ankle release straps are aย no-no in rivers; currents are stronger thanย you think!
Check out NRS waist belts for aย better option.
