California Bike Plate Available for Purchase Online


Proceeds to benefit cycling programs and initiatives

Together with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and other cycling industry partners, we are excited to announce that the new California bike plate is available for purchase online at CDPH has 12 months to collect the required 7,500 pre-paid applications.

Plate sales will generate grants to statewide coalitions, community-based organizations, nonprofits, county health departments and other organizations promoting cycling. If funded and successful, this program can generate millions of dollars for bike safety, youth programs, cycling advocacy and more.

These special license plates can be purchased for your California registered car, truck, trailer, or motorcycle. Support cycling in California by pre-ordering your plate. These plates also make a great gift idea for the upcoming holiday season. Donations are being accepted through the California Bicycle Coalition at to push the program forward.

Sacramento CA –September 9, 2019 // Assemblymember Tasha Boerner Horvath is pleased to announce Assembly Bill (AB) 467 was signed into [California] law by Governor Gavin Newsom. Also called the “Equal Pay for Equal Play” measure, AB 467 addresses long-standing gender pay disparities in competitive sports. This bill requires sports prize equity for both male and female participants in all sporting competitions held on state lands.

“I am humbled and honored to see this bill signed into law, advancing the historic efforts of so many athletes and advocates standing up for equality,” said Assemblymember Boerner Horvath. “The overwhelming bipartisan support of this bill demonstrates that the State Legislature and Governor Newsom have the backs of women and girls throughout California.”
