“Currently, people of color in the US are three times more likely to be 'nature deprived' — meaning they have less access (and in some cases no access) to parks, paths, and green spaces. Investment in programs that create access and diversity in the outdoors is more important than ever." — @mayor_justin_cummings

The mural was the inspiration of artist @abimustapha, who after receiving approval from the City Council teamed up with Shandara Gill — Director of @yogaforallmovement, Sean McGowen — Vice Chair of the Arts Commission, and muralist Taylor Reinhold. The project was funded entirely by donations and the money raised from the sale of over 500 shirts. Important #repost from @mtshastaskipark // *IMPORTANT INFORMATION*
Mount Shasta Bike Park is closed effective immediately.
With the safety of our guests, employees and neighbors in mind we are closing the park for the summer. Due to extremly high fire danger and local fire crews being spread thin we have been encouraged to close along side of the National Forest Lands.
Mount Shasta Bike Park and the surrounding National Forest Lands are extremely vulnerable to fire so we want to do our part in helping to minimize this threat.
See all your smiling faces this coming winter 🤙
For information on National Forest closures please visit the link in our bio....

“We ride to recognize and eliminate the oppression, poverty and shame faced by BIPOC, LGTBQ, and poor White communities. We believe that social injustice and climate disruption are two symptoms of the same disease. We also believe that mountain biking, snowboarding, climbing, and surfing are part of the cure.” —RAR #ridersagainstracism #earnyourbeer...
