The 11th annual Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival is part of the nine-day Alpenglow Mountain Festival, presented by bigtruck brand. The Alpenglow Mountain Festival is a bi-annual, nine day celebration of human-powered mountain sports, events, clinics, equipment demos, presentations, and film that takes place in North Lake Tahoe from February 20-28, 2016 (learn more here).

Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival films come from renowned filmmakers who search out backcountry corners across the globe to submit their best work, as well as from grassroots filmmakers who take a video camera out on their weekend excursions and submit their best films. 2015/16 tour films include The Weight of Winter (Ben Sturgulewski), I Love Splitboarding (Right on Brother), Shifting Ice (Kt Miller), The Forecaster (Spindle Productions), 55 Hours in Mexico (Joey Schusler), Always Above Us (Sherpa Cinema), Connections (Dynafit), Shared Lines (T-bar Films), and Japan by Van (Sweetgrass Productions).

The Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival is a fundraiser for Sierra Watershed Education Partnership (SWEP). Tickets are $10 (on sale Feb. 1) and must be purchased through Alpenglow here.
