Bell Helmets Launches Women’s Ambassador Program

Joy Ride Ambassador program to inspire and enable female mountain bikers

Bell Helmets recently announced their Joy Ride Ambassador program, designed to inspire and enable female mountain bikers with regular, structured, fun and social rides that appeal to all levels of riders. The program was modeled after Girls Rock, a remarkably successful women’s mountain biking group formed by Bell Vice President Jessica Klodnicki in Santa Cruz. Bell, a company well known for its support of the mountain biking community and advocacy efforts, is seeking women who are passionate about mountain biking, and are inspired to enable other female riders to enjoy both challenge and camaraderie in a non-race oriented environment. Five women in five towns will be chosen to help them achieve their mission to get more women riding on the dirt more often. Candidates don’t have to be highly skilled mountain bikers; they simply have to be passionate about women’s mountain biking.

Criteria of a Good Ambassador

• Loves mountain biking and camaraderie with other women
• Someone with excellent leadership, event planning and organizational skills
• Locally connected with the ability to partner with local bike retailers and other organizations
• Active and knowledgeable on social media (potentially with a good following)
• Passionate about the Bell brand

Ambassador Responsibilities

• Manage a once-a-month social ride for riders of all levels
• Represent Bell by wearing a Bell helmet and kit for all rides
• Maintain rider database and communications
• Update social media regularly with images/content from rides
• Attend kick off Joy Ride Camp in Santa Cruz (Paid for by Bell)
• Spread the word about the Joy Ride program
• Willing to lead this program for at least one year with our help and support

U.S. applications will be accepted through November 1, 2015. Ambassadors and their locations will be announced on December 1, 2015.
