For over a decade now, Yosemite Facelift has been making a remarkable difference in the amount of trash left behind in Yosemite Valley after the tourist season. The event offers a fun, community-building opportunity to give back to the incomparable Yosemite Valley.

Many participants are surprised to learn how fun it is to pick up trash in Yosemite. It’s one thing to visit the Valley and take pictures of the scenery, but joining Facelift’s efforts connects people to the Valley as stewards, not just as tourists. 

Come volunteer for an hour or everyday; any amount of time you can spend volunteering is appreciated. In 2018, there were 11,700 volunteer hours logged — this would take one person working full time more than 5.5 years! 

Camping spots fill fast; inquire about availability. Keep in mind you aren’t required to camp for the event. Feel free to show up the morning of to pitch in.

Can’t make it to the event? You can help by making a donation, by telling your friends, and by being a good steward cleaning up other areas you love.
