Matt recently took a one-year leave from teaching at Castro Valley High School to complete the remaining 2,250 miles.

We had the chance to meet Nevada Native runner Ku Stevens and his family during the Remembrance Run. We were so inspired by their story, we had Ku on the cover of our Fall 2022 issue.
@schh_films is doing a documentary on Ku's story and that of other Indigenous families who have been impacted by Indian Boarding Schools.

In case you missed it, Yosemite announced yesterday that Big Oak Flat Road (continuation of Highway 120 west into Yosemite) is closed from just inside the park boundary to Merced Grove.
"The road has a crack that is about 200 feet long and up to four feet deep. The road surface has moved two to three inches vertically and horizontally and is continuing to move.
The embankment below the road has moved as much as 15 feet downslope and has significant water flow through it."
The road will be closed at least until mid-June and possibly into July.
