The Reno-Tahoe Odyssey (RTO) is a scenic and challenging 178-mile overnight relay run adventure that begins in Reno, travels to the shores of Lake Tahoe, and loops back to the Biggest Little City. Teams tackle 36 relay legs averaging about 5 miles each, running through iconic Sierra and high-desert landscapes while experiencing the camaraderie and excitement of a true road-trip style relay. The course highlights the beauty, history, and communities of the Reno-Tahoe region, with runners passing through areas including downtown Reno, Truckee, Tahoe City, South Lake Tahoe, Genoa, Carson City, and Virginia City before finishing back in Reno.
