Successful First Mountain Bike Race Draws Over 400 Competitors

Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort proudly hosted its first-ever mountain bike race, the “Dirt Ridge Enduro,” on Saturday, July 27th, as part of the California Enduro Series. This exciting event marked the third stop in the series and drew over 400 racers from across the country, including participants from as far as Colorado and local Tuolumne County competitors.

The Dirt Ridge Enduro weekend’s festivities began on Friday, with racers arriving to practice and preview the trails at Dodge Ridge. Many participants enjoyed on-site camping, creating a vibrant and community-driven atmosphere. The competition featured 28 different categories, accommodating a wide range of participants, including youth, women’s expert and pro divisions, E-bike, and men’s expert and pro categories.

Racers tackled five challenging stages, with stages 1-3 requiring a pedal uphill transfer and stages 4-5 utilizing the Motherlode Chairlift 3 for a ride transfer. The diverse and exciting terrain at Dodge Ridge provided an ideal backdrop for competitors to showcase their skills.

Hanna Craig, Marketing Director at Dodge Ridge, expressed her excitement about the success: “This event has been in the works for the past six months. We didn’t know what to truly expect for our first race, but with all the planning and dedication of our staff, we made it happen, and it was a huge success. Riders were thrilled with the level of professionalism, the laid-back feel of our resort, and the camaraderie among competitors. We are already planning for our own downhill races and another enduro next summer!”

Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort continues to offer a range of summer activities, including mountain biking, hiking, disc golf, and food and beverage options. The resort is open Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 4 PM throughout the summer, with special events planned for Labor Day and Oktoberfest weekends. There is still plenty of time to enjoy the resort before the snow starts to fall later in the year.
