Press Release // Olympic Valley, CA • November 9, 2015 With almost two feet of snow over the last week, including six inches of snow today on the summits of Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, and even more in the forecast, both resorts plan to open ahead of schedule, weather and conditions permitting. Optimal snowmaking temperatures and around the clock commitment from the Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows snowmaking team have made early opening a reality. Alpine Meadows will open for the season on Thursday, November 12 at 9:00am, over a month ahead of the originally scheduled opening date of December 11. Alpine Meadows plans to operate Kangaroo Chair as well as limited dining offerings.

Squaw Valley will open for the season on Saturday, November 14, eleven days ahead of the original opening date of November 25. Squaw Valley plans to operate Gold Coast Express and offer limited dining at Gold Coast Complex. In celebration of opening, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows will host Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows Foundation (SAF) Scholarship Day on November 14, during which the entire lift ticket cost, priced at $29, will be donated to ski team scholarship funding. SAF is a non-profit dedicated to supporting and enhancing the snow sports experience in the Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows community. SAF’s programs focus in the areas of education, scholarships, infrastructure, facilities, and community advocacy.

Skiers and riders looking to take full advantage of the fresh snow and early opening dates can purchase the Tahoe Super Pass starting at $429 for adults, and gain access to 6,000 acres, 42 lifts and over 270 trails at both Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows. Tahoe Super Pass Silver and Gold passholders will receive the Worry Free Guarantee: those who don’t ski or ride at least five days on this season’s pass will be credited up to four days towards their 2016-17 pass.
