Alpenglow Sports’ Lineup of Winter Events Continues with Join Kimmy Fasani’s “Outside Ourselves” and the Largest Demo Event in North America

Alpenglow Sports is excited to announce its January 2025 lineup of events! On Thursday, January 2, 2025, the 19th annual Alpenglow Sports Winter Speaker Series, presented by the North Tahoe Chamber, continues with pioneering snowboarder and breast cancer survivor, Kimmy Fasani. The evening will take place at the Palisades Tahoe Olympic Village Events Center and will also be livestreamed on Alpenglow Sports’ YouTube channel. Admission is FREE, and all ages are welcome. Doors open at 6 PM, and the show begins at 7 PM. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Tahoe Waterman Foundation.

Kimmy Fasani Presents “Outside Ourselves”

Kimmy Fasani will share her powerful journey of resilience and connection to the outdoors in her talk, Outside Ourselves. A Truckee native and Mammoth Lakes resident, Kimmy will reflect on how the mountains became a sanctuary during life’s challenges, from losing both parents to cancer to overcoming her own health battle. Her story is a testament to the healing power of nature and its ability to teach patience, trust, and determination.

Lake Tahoe Backcountry Demo Event – January 4, 2025

Gear up for the 19th annual Lake Tahoe Backcountry Demo Event on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Palisades Tahoe (Alpine Meadows). Test the latest backcountry skis, splitboards, telemark equipment, and more from over 30 top brands like DPS Skis, Black Crows, and Dynafit. This is North America’s largest demo event for all things alpine touring, telemark and splitboarding. This free event runs from 9 AM to 2:30 PM for participants with a valid Palisades Tahoe lift ticket or season pass. The event is held annually at the Alpine side of Palisades Tahoe, a destination known for great out-of-bounds terrain and easy to access side-country. If weather impacts the resort on 1/4, we will reschedule for 1/5/25.

Why Attend?

  • Kimmy Fasani’s Talk: Be inspired by Kimmy’s moving story of adventure and resilience.
  • Largest Demo in North America: Test top-tier backcountry gear with expert advice.
  • Gear Giveaway: Two giveaways at the event — one in person and the other online
  • Support Local Nonprofits: All proceeds from this event will benefit the Tahoe Waterman Foundation.

All bar proceeds will benefit the local nonprofit, the Tahoe Waterman Foundation.

There will be two giveaways at the event, also to directly support the nonprofit beneficiary of the evening. One in-person raffle for all attendees who purchase tickets at the event, and one online giveaway for anyone tuning in from afar, or who decided to purchase tickets online. The prizes for each are different and you can enter both! Register for the livestream and you will receive one free entry into the online giveaway.
