On a bright day in mid-November, a dozen big wave surfers made history and set a new precedent for all who will come behind them. These 12 intrepid women stood up to dangerously windy conditions at the Peβ€˜ahi Women’s Challenge in Maui and became the first women to compete in their own big wave event alongside their male counterparts.
