Women On Waves is going VIRTUAL
Women on Waves (WOW) amateur longboard surf contest is not letting 2020 take them down. Instead, they are going virtual and are focusing on raising awareness about a subject that speaks close to our hearts: #SurfingForDiversity.
WOW’s mission is to create and promote participation of ALL women of ALL abilities in the sport of surfing.
“The unfolding events in our country has made us aware that we need to do more to become active allies in promoting diversity and inclusiveness in the surfing community. We need to take more proactive steps to amplify the our core mission message that we include **all women** — all backgrounds, colors, identities. ” — Women On Waves
As a start, this year’s main beneficiary is Brown Girl Surf, an entity that promotes inclusivity in the sport of surfing.

Event Day // Saturday, October 17, 2020
Grab your surfboard, longboard, SUP, boogie board, etc and your friends and head out to the ocean. Take a photo (extra points if you are wearing the event shirt) and tag @womenonwavessurfcontest with the hashtags #SurfingForDiversity.
