2024 Yosemite Facelift: Volunteer Event to Preserve Yosemite National Park

The Yosemite Climbing Association invites you to join the 2024 Yosemite Facelift, an annual volunteer event dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of Yosemite National Park. Taking place from September 25th to 29th, 2024, this event gathers park enthusiasts, climbers, and nature lovers alike for five days of environmental stewardship.

Event Overview
The Yosemite Facelift® offers a unique opportunity for volunteers to give back to the park by removing litter and debris from popular areas and trails. Each day, participants will meet at the Yosemite Valley Visitor Center to register, receive their assignments, and head out to designated clean-up zones. Cleanup hours typically run from the morning until early afternoon, allowing plenty of time to explore Yosemite’s breathtaking scenery once tasks are completed.

Daily Itinerary

  • Check-In: Volunteers start their day by checking in at the Visitor Center. From here, they will receive trash bags, gloves, and instructions for the day’s cleanup locations.
  • Clean-Up Activities: Participants will focus on various areas around the park, including popular hiking trails, climbing routes, and campgrounds, making a significant impact on the environment.
  • Special Projects: On the first day, volunteers can also sign up for special projects, which focus on specific conservation tasks and restoration efforts, adding another layer of contribution beyond litter removal.
  • Evening Programs: After a rewarding day, volunteers can unwind with educational programs and presentations, highlighting the history, ecology, and conservation efforts in the park. Evening activities also include fundraising meals and opportunities to connect with other like-minded individuals.
  • Giveaways and Raffles: Each day features exciting raffles and giveaways, with prizes from outdoor gear brands and sponsors.
