ALAMEDA, Calif. — Feb. 5, 2014 — The North Face, the world’s premier supplier of authentic, innovative andtechnically advanced outdoor apparel, equipment and footwear, has partneredwith the American Alpine Club (AAC) to launch the 2014 Live Your Dream Grant, designed to help the everyday adventurer make their outdoor dreams a reality.

More than $20,000 will be granted to support unforgettable experiences and expeditions that provide the skills and confidence to realize climbing ambitions. The application period is open now through March 1 for grants ranging from $200 to $1,000.

“At The North Face, our mission to is to inspire a global movement of outdoor exploration, so it is exciting to be a part of the LiveYour Dream Grant to give climbers an opportunity to dream up new challenges, grow in their sport and inspire others to do the same,” said Ann Krcik, director of The North Face Outdoor Exploration.
“We are proud to collaborate with The North Face on our most transformational and popular grant,” said Phil Powers, AAC executive director. “Together we will make more and more dreams come true for those who have a genuine desire to explore and grow as climbers.”
The grant seeks to fund individuals or small teams of all ages and experience levels, as well as a range of climbing disciplines, including bouldering, sport and trad climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, ski mountaineering and peak running.

Previous grantees have used funds from the Live Your Dream grant to explore new regions for climbing, new terrain or build strength in new disciplines. 2014 grantees will be announced April 15. For more information on the Live Your Dream Grant visit www.americanalpineclub.com.
