Women who are passionate about mountain biking encouraged to apply

Press Release // Scotts Valley, CA – Bell Helmets, a leading manufacturer of bicycle and motorcycle helmets, is proud to announce the expansion of its highly successful Bell Joy Ride Program. This innovative initiative is designed to inspire and enable female mountain bikers of all skill levels through regular, structured, fun, and social rides that appeal to riders across the spectrum of experience.

The Bell Joy Ride Program creates a unique space where female riders can enjoy both challenge and camaraderie in a non-race oriented environment. It aims to break down barriers that have traditionally discouraged women from participating in mountain biking, offering a supportive community that celebrates the sport’s exhilaration and freedom.

Following an incredibly successful initial launch, Bell is now seeking to identify five new ambassadors for 2017 to help further its mission of getting more women riding on dirt more often. These ambassadors will play a crucial role in organizing rides, fostering community, and serving as mentors and role models for women interested in mountain biking.

“We’re thrilled with the response to the Bell Joy Ride Program so far,” said Jessica Klodnicki, Executive Vice President and General Manager at Bell Helmets. “The enthusiasm and growth we’ve seen demonstrate the real need for initiatives that support women in mountain biking. Our new ambassadors will help us expand our reach and impact even further.”

Bell emphasizes that potential ambassadors don’t need to be expert mountain bikers – passion for women’s mountain biking is the key qualification. Ambassadors should be committed to creating inclusive, encouraging environments for riders of all levels, from complete beginners to experienced trail blazers.

The program provides a range of benefits for participants, including guided rides tailored to different skill levels, opportunities to test the latest gear, and the chance to connect with like-minded women who share a love for mountain biking. It also offers workshops on bike maintenance, trail etiquette, and riding techniques, empowering women with the knowledge and skills to enhance their riding experience.

Applications for the 2017 Bell Joy Ride Program ambassador positions will be accepted through November 15, 2016. Bell will review all applications and select individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to growing the women’s mountain biking community in their local areas. The chosen ambassadors will be announced in January 2017, kicking off an exciting year of rides, events, and community building.

This expansion of the Bell Joy Ride Program underscores Bell’s ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion in cycling. By providing more opportunities for women to engage with mountain biking, Bell aims to contribute to a more vibrant, diverse, and inclusive cycling community.
