Tail Wagger 5K

Welcome to the inaugural dog-friendly Tail Wagger 5K and 1 Miler! Finally an event for the dogs in the Tahoe Truckee Area! The event is held at North Tahoe Regional Park located at 6600 Donner Road, Tahoe Vista, CA 96148. No dog, no problem as the event is open to human runners too.

A record amount of snow this winter isn’t holding back the renowned Lost & Found Gravel Festival – the show goes ON Saturday, June 3!⁠

Race organizers have re-routed the course to stay out of the snow, keeping distances and elevation gain nearly the same. Nicely done Lost & Found 👏⁠

Entries are still available but selling fast … so be sure to snag your spot at the start. Wildflowers will be going off, enhancing the phenomenal beauty of the Lost Sierra backcountry. You don’t want to miss this race and the weekend’s fabulous festivities! ⁠

We had the chance to meet Nevada Native runner Ku Stevens and his family during the Remembrance Run. We were so inspired by their story, we had Ku on the cover of our Fall 2022 issue.⁠

@schh_films is doing a documentary on Ku's story and that of other Indigenous families who have been impacted by Indian Boarding Schools. ⁠

In case you missed it, Yosemite announced yesterday that Big Oak Flat Road (continuation of Highway 120 west into Yosemite) is closed from just inside the park boundary to Merced Grove.⁠
⁠
"The road has a crack that is about 200 feet long and up to four feet deep. The road surface has moved two to three inches vertically and horizontally and is continuing to move.⁠
⁠
The embankment below the road has moved as much as 15 feet downslope and has significant water flow through it."⁠
⁠
The road will be closed at least until mid-June and possibly into July. ⁠
⁠
