Pure Fun, Full Speed at Mammoth

Mammoth Bike Park delivers the ultimate biking experience for all skill levels against a truly spectacular backdrop in the Eastern Sierra Mountains. Whether itโ€™s your first time riding on dirt, or youโ€™re a downhill expert, this park delivers the ultimate high-alpine riding experience for everyone. Its 80+ miles of lift-served singletrack offers plenty of pavers, berms, jumps, and drops for all-day fun.

Game Plan for Beginners

Shorter trails and entry-level terrain will help you progress as a mountain biker. At Mammoth, the two best trails for this are Discovery and Adventure, which feature smooth surfaces and wide turns. From there plan to move on to the Explorer trail, which is a bit steeper, includes banked paver turns and gives you access to the Skills Park where you can work your way up from small drops to intermediate rainbow bridges. For a fun end to the day be sure to get a few laps on Discotech’s gravity-fed pump trail.

Game Plan for Seasoned Riders

If you’re looking for more advanced trails, Velocity, and Chain Smoke are for you. Both trails start at McCoy Station and are easy to lap via the lower gondola. Featuring technical rock gardens, drops, wooden features, and as much speed as you can handle, these two trails are a favorite of the locals for good reason. Other advanced/expert-rated trails not to be missed: Flow, Boomerang, and Ricochet.

Two-Wheeled Fun Beyond the Hill

Conquer more high-alpine trails around town and up in the beautiful Lakes Basin area where you can enjoy miles of paved paths that take you to gorgeous lakes and vistas.
Little riders will love getting a feel for whoops and berms on a STACYC electric bike up at the Adventure Center at Main Lodge where there’s a specially built pump track just for these fun stability bikes.
Mammoth also hosts a variety of two-wheeled events throughout the summer including the Pedalpalooza mountain bike race in August and the Gran Fondo road race in September. Also in September, the Norco Dirt Series is a super fun bike park skills clinic for intermediate riders. And, for the mother of all adrenaline-pumping, high-octane, ultimate spectator events there is the Monster Energy Mammoth Motocross starting in August.
