Adventure at SLO Ultra 2016

The inaugural SLO Ultra is a unique trail event running through the private Wild Cherry Canyon property on California’s scenic central coast near San Luis Obispo on Saturday, September 10. This highly anticipated event features a 50-mile ultra race, marathon, half- marathon and 5-mile trail courses. Medals and awards will go to the top three athletes overall in all races. Additionally, the 50-mile race champions will be awarded a cash purse. The race is limited to 900 runners overall and is expected to sell out. 
Race weekend kicks off with a showing of the 2016 Trails in Motion Film Festival at the Fremont Theater in San Luis Obispo on Thursday evening, September 8. Legendary athletes Krissy Moehl (Mile for Mile), Caroline Boller (This is Your Day), Noah Cass (The Last Time I Heard True Silence) as well as director Myles Smythe (This is Your Day) and race director, photographer and storyteller, Luis Escobar, will be on hand. Proceeds benefit the Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo.
On race day, the finish line blue grass festival will feature The Mother Corn Shuckers and other local musicians on stage during and after the races. It is FREE to the public and all race participants. Hot, fresh BBQ will be available for $15 as well as beer from Firestone Walker & Michelob Ultra, non-alcoholic beverages and hot coffee drinks. Gather friends & family and bring chairs, blankets and your dancing shoes! No outside food or alcohol allowed. Dogs welcome, but MUST be on leash at all times (dogs are not allowed on the race course).
