Sonoma County-based Hopper Adventures — the organization behind the popular Grasshopper Adventure Series — is pitching in to help relief efforts for the devastating Camp Fire that ravaged Butte County in November.
Chico-area cycling group Chico Velo, in partnership with local bike shops, has established a fundraiser for cyclists affected by this past November’s devastating Camp Fire in Butte County, to help them get back out riding.
As the first rains finally arrived on Thanksgiving weekend it appeared our hellish fire season was finally over. While the fire danger subsided many Californians still smoldered with anger in the wake of comments made by President Trump and Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke after both men toured the devastation.
Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., which rose to prominence as one of the original craft brewers in the US, has done a lot to support the victims of the Camp Fire. They began by starting a relief fund and funding it with a $100,000 donation. Now, they are releasing a beer they will sell with 100 percent of sales going to the victims.
Entries are still available for the Santa Cruz Mountains Challenge, a Santa Cruz-area road cycling event set to take place Saturday, July 29, 2023.
This year’s SCMC features new routes, catering to various riding levels and interests. It also boasts a fun climate festival, and a portion of the proceeds benefit Ecology Action for their efforts in tackling climate change issues. 🌎 🚴♀️
