USA Cycling MTB Championships Enduro Pro Women podium. 1st (Gold) Jill Kintner, 2nd (Silver) Georgia Gould, 3rd (Bronze) Lauren Gregg, 4th Rachel Throop, 5th Amy Rambacher (Pierce Moran).

Red Bull / Norco Bicycles pro rider Jill Kintner came out on top at the 2015 USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships at Mammoth Mountain in July, taking first place in all three gravity races: dual slalom, downhill and Enduro. Kintnerโ€™s fellow Gold winnersย include Chloe Woodruff (cross country and short track pro women) Aaron Gwin (downhill pro men), Mitch Ropelato (Enduro pro men), Luca Cometti (dual slalom pro men), Howard Grotts (cross country pro men), and Russell Finsterwald (short track pro men).

For the first time in five years, the same venue hosted all mountain bike disciplines during a single event. Mammoth Senior Vice President and Race Director Bill Cockcroft says, โ€œWe were thrilled to hold the championships here at Mammoth, and are ecstatic with how well the event went. Everyone I talked to was very complimentary of the event. Weโ€™re on board for July 12-17 next year and are looking forward to producing an even better event. We hope everyone will now join us for the Kamikaze Bike Games September 24-27!โ€

Pivot/FOX pro rider โ€“ and ASJ contributing writer! โ€“ Lauren Gregg’s focus and determination took her all the way to the podium, winning the Bronze medal for pro women Enduro (Pierce Moran).

ASJ staff were excited to seeย contributing writer Lauren Gregg sporting the Bronze on the women’s pro Enduro podium. Greggย reports, “It was so exciting racing USA Cycling’s first ever Enduro National Championship. They did an amazing jobย โ€“ย the course was incredibly challenging and technical, the timing was flawless, and the event really tested racers’ tech skills as well as their fitness. Mammoth’s notorious extremely loose conditions and burly DH features made it the perfect location. From the venue at Canyon Lodge spectators were able to watch the incredibly sketchy high speed ‘Elevator Shaft,’ the wild rock garden and root section at the finish of Stages 1 and 4, and the Dual Slalom finish of Stage 3. All the cowbells and cheering was great motivation! Initially I was actually pretty intimidated by the course, but on race day I was able to bring it together and take the Bronze medal on my Pivot Mach6C. I was overย the moon when I heard the announcer call out that I had taken 3rd when I crossed the finish line at the bottom of Stage 4. Racing and standing on the box with mountain bike legends Jill Kintner and Georgia Gould was totally surreal. What a weekend! It’s awesome to watch Enduro continue to develop and grow. I’ll always remember the first Enduro Nationals, and I can’t wait to race it again next year and chase that stars and stripes jersey!”
