Over three weeks off of the bike; just shy of a month, actually. Thatโ€™s how long it has taken me to heal up enough from my last crash to be able to get out on the trails and pedal around for an hour or two. It isnโ€™t for lack of wanting that I didnโ€™t get out before, either. For the first time in a really REALLY long time, I had a crash bad enough that I couldnโ€™t just ride through the pain.

Bell Helmets โ€“ in association with the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) โ€“ is at it again, offering a staggering $100,000 grant to fund a downhill trail building project ... and the public gets to choose which project wins. This year, the focus is on new black or double black diamond level gravity trails designed with a 300 foot or more elevation drop and features such as berms, rollers and jumps, plus particularly steep sections.
