Join SurfAid and Surftech Santa Cruz for a Benefit Night Friday, April 22 from 6-10pm to kick off the inaugural SurfAid Cup on Saturday, April 23.

A limited number of tickets are available for $25 each. Enjoy food, drinks, music, raffle and a presentation by SurfAid founder Dr. Dave Jenkins. Pupus will be provided by Pono Hawaiian Grill and beverages will be poured compliments of Uncommon Brewers. Event proceeds will directly support SurfAid’s Mother and Child Health programs.

The inaugural SurfAid Cup running on April 24 will boast an action-packed day of tag-team surfing featuring legendary surfers in Santa Cruz. This is a rare opportunity to surf an uncrowded Pleasure Point line up with legends and pros.

SurfAid’s core mission is to save the lives of women and children in remote areas of Indonesia – areas connected to us by surfing. The organization works together with communities and local government to prevent mother and child suffering and death. According to the latest statistics, an Indonesian mother dies in childbirth every three hours, while 20 babies die every hour (and half of these babies are less than one month old!). In remote areas these figures are worse. SurfAids provide a mix of practical support, education and health promotion that aims to transform poor health habits into positive behaviors.

In addition to building these award winning health programs, SurfAid has helped communities re-build their lives after three major natural disasters including earthquakes and tsunamis over the past 15 years.
