Nestled in the nooks of Hollister Hills the 4th annual Tepuifest united the versatile Tepui roof top tent community the weekend of October 14-16, 2016. Tepuifest attracted a variety of adventurous individuals and families challenging the nature of camping itself, even as an ominous storm began rolling in over the hills. Proud Tepui owners woke up dry and well rested – unlike their soggy counterparts in tents on the ground – after rain came through both Friday and Saturday nights.
Tepui staff hosted off road clinics into the Hollister Hills trails during the day, providing an element of adventure and some amazing landscape views. Back at camp, the days were filled with a delicious catered breakfast, bean toss games, horseshoes, raffle prizes, and of course the coveted Tepui awards show. Night activities ramped up with a fully catered dinner, open bar, live music, and an open mic as everyone loosened up.
Tepuifest 2016 was a testament to the audacity of the product and a celebration of the unique community that continues to challenge the conventional forms of camping.
