Competitors and race crew took on challenging conditions at Alpine Meadows February 21-22 for a spectacular weekend of ski and snowboard racing; next on tour: Kirkwood March 7-8 and Sugar Bowl March 14-15

The 2015 Rahlves’ Banzai Tour kicked off its fifth season Saturday February 21 at Alpine Meadows with a total of 81 competitors. This year’s challenging Face Banzai course mirrored what the Rahlves’ Banzai is all about: technical, fast and fun. Veteran Banzai athletes claimed that this year’s Face Banzai was the scariest of them all.

This season’s first day kicked off with firm and icy snow conditions that made for fast and exciting qualifying runs. The day featured added excitement due to the first round of racing being moved up from Sunday to Saturday right after qualifiers because of weather. The next day was packed with adrenaline-fueled action.
